I am an American citizen. I have loved this nation and served in her defense, participating in two wars in the last thirty-eight years; one against Marxist-Socialist (Communist) agression in the Republic of Vietnam, and one against a hellish Islamic worldwide aggression with duty in Afghanistan. Over the course of my adult life it has been demonstrated to me that at least half of the people of the United States of America hold that service in contempt and want to destroy the free-enterprise Capitalist system of economic industry wherein the elements of production are transferred from individual ownership and private industry into the hands of the federal government. Indeed, based upon the recent acts of all branches of the federal government, with the willing participation of our nations largest corporations, we have seen a massive transfer of America's wealth from individual Americans to the federal government as these corporations beg for bail-outs and agree to the nationalization of their industry. This is nothing less than a full-scale power grab by the Democrat Party and organized labor in the biggest single attack upon modern Capitalism seeking to move the United States of America into a socialist economic paradigm!
I want to thank US Representative Kay Granger, R-12th Congressional District of Texas, US Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, and US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, for their steadfast resistance to the latest "stimulus" efforts in Congress. Certainly, with the exceptions of Senators Spector, Collins, and Snowe, the Republican Party has done everything possible to stop this power grab which has absolutely nothing to do with stimulating the economy of the United States! Placing federal agents outside of a shopping mall to confiscate the money and resources of customers and businesses cannot stimulate; but only crush economic activity! The present efforts at economic stimulus by our federal government have the same effect!
Further, economic stimulus has nothing to do with establishing new federal medical agencies to review care for the elderly and deny them the medical procedures they need!
Empowerment of labor unions at the expense of other workers has nothing to do with economic stimulus or recovery!
I realize that I am only one small person in this economic contest of philosophies and wills. I know that as an individual I alone can have very little impact on the economic decisions that are made by businesses and government; but even still,
I know that I have at least some control over that portion of my discretionary spending I yet am allowed to exercise. It is for that reason that I declare to all who read these presents, and invite all freedom loving Americans to join with me in making the following:
Personal Stimulus Resolution.
Whereas, the Democrat Party, their supporters, and organized labor unions have declared war upon the free-enterprise Capitalist economic system of government in favor of a nationalized Marxist-Socialist model and philosophy of economics; and,
Whereas, many United States businesses have forsaken the principal of private ownership of capital in favor of a "Command" economic model where the government directs economic decisions for the corporation; and,
Whereas, members of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate are presently intent upon passing spending legislation that will place a burden of taxation upon generations yet to be born, and have no representation in said houses of government (since those electors now present will have long passed away of natural causes) when these bills come due, and hence, have no personal interest at stake in the impact of the present legislation upon future generations (reference the American Revolution and the arguments against "taxation without representation" in the British Parliament); and,
Whereas, since the legislation enacted is intended to benefit organized labor as a pay-off for political support with the effect of the impoverishment of non-labor union workers across the nation to drive them into labor unions;
I am resolved, that although I have in the past sought to purchase products made in the United States of America made by workers in the United States,
I hereby adopt a new economic philosophy such that I shall, to every extent possible and reasonable, refuse to purchase goods and services from corporations that have sought "stimulus" support from the federal government of the United States of America; and I am further resolved that I will, to every extent possible and reasonable, refuse to purchase goods and services provided by members of organized labor in the United States of America! I am also specifically resolved that I shall refuse to purchase any automobile from any of the three major auto makers of the United States of America (Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler) to ensure that none of my purchasing power and benefit is directed to one of these nationalized corporations, or corporations that sought nationalization, or that produces goods principally produced with organized labor.
Finally, I invite every patriot to join with me in this resolution so that true economic recovery may take place where free markets and not government mandate steers economic activity. Congress, the Courts, and the White House have refused to hear our voices (including the White House under President George W. Bush) calling for government to stop manipulating markets. Only you and I, through the spending discipline called for in this resolution, can force the federal government to stop preventing and destroying the economic recovery that would take place naturally if the free-enterprise Capitalist system was allowed to operate. I call on each one of you to join me today in your own resolution. If we, the other half of America, stand strong in one accord, we can yet avoid the economic disaster that the Democrat Party and organized labor is forcing upon our nation, our children, and our grandchildren. Together we stop them at the markets; or we lose everything this nation's greatness was built upon!
