Communism by definition.

The American Heritage dictionary (fourth edition), copyright 2001 by Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, Massachusetts, defines communism, "n. 1. an economic system characterized by collective ownership of property and by the organization of labor for common advantage. 2. Communism a. A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power. b. The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine."
According to an American history text used in the Fort Worth, Texas, Independent School District, circa 1972, [Frank Freidel and Henry N. Drewry, America: a Modern History of the United States, (Lexington, MA: D.C. Heath and Co., 1970), 398], "From Europe came another alternative for American workers.  The writings of Karl Marx became the doctrine of many laborers who had organized strong unions as way stations on the route to the destruction of capitalism and the establishment of socialism."
Let's see.  Do you remember candidate Barack Obama in socialist Berlin, verbally attacking our government and calling for radical "change"?  Isn't it interesting that three weeks into the presidency of Barack Obama he and his Democrat Party are passing legislation that seeks to control the economy [through the defacto nationalization of private industrial resources] by the federal government [spell that "State"] through authoritarian ["I won"] single party rule?  Is it not true that the final result of President Obama's, and his Democrat allies, will be "an economic system characterized by collective ownership of property and by the organization of labor for common advantage"?
I realized today, thanks to a caller on the Rush Limbaugh, EIB, radio program, that one of the huge reasons that the United States of America is standing on the precipice of a leap into a socialism that is increasingly smelling like Marxist-Leninist Communism, is that the dumbing down process has been so effective among the US population, that more than half of voting age citizens understand economics at the kindergarten level!  The caller rightly pointed out that we had better start educating our children on what socialism seeks to do to them as it relieves them of their property and their rights.
Always razor sharp, Rush responded [and I am paraphrasing here], that every parent needs to set their children down, gather all of their toys, and instruct them that they must give up half of their toys to others.  He went on to say that when the children cry and protest that the toys belong to them, the parents need to correct the children by telling them that they own nothing; that the government really owns everything and will give them only the toys that they need!
I would make one exception.  Instead of making the parents the bad guys, I would say that someone representing an Obama government agency, led by a Party member who is personally exempt from abiding by the same rules that they push onto the citizens, should take away the children's toys.  Only then will the next generation of Americans begin to understand personally what the new Communism will finally mean to them; because today, they don't have a clue.
Before it is too late [and we may already be there] citizens should weigh carefully the benefits of a capitalist system [the economic system that the United States achieved her greatness under].  That same dictionary, cited above, defines capitalism, "n. An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market."
In short, you own and market your own labor and creativity!  The government does not own you or your productive capacity!  That means that you can invest in the goods and services you want; not the government taking your money to buy what you don't want or need.  Finally, it means that the economic engine of this great nation is powered by those who own their own resources investing in what is sound; not the government trying to legislate production and jobs.
Get on the phone, write letters, and send emails to your representatives in both the House and Senate, Democrat and Republican alike, and tell them to get us back to capitalism!  Make them, the main stream media, and Hollywood celebrities understand that the people of the United States of America are NOT going to surrender this great nation.  Then vote for conservatives, regardless of party (you hear that Senator McCain?)!
